Iran arrests tens of Iranian Kurds for supporting referendum


MAF NEWS – Security forces in Iranian Kurdish cities of Sanandaj, Bukan, Divandareh, Mahabad, Mariwan, Saqez,Maku, Ilam, Kamiaran, and Quchan have arrested at least 36 people who celebrated Iraqi Kurdistan’s referendum since the day of referendum, Maf News reported.


According to Democracy Center for Human Rights in Kurdistan most of the prisoners are transferred to an unknown location.

Names of the detainees are listed below:

Sanandaj: “Omar Moradi”, “Salam Soleimani”, “Kaka Mozaffar”, “Fouad Zandi”, “Arsalan AliMoradi”, “Abdolbasait Amini”, “Mahmoud Ghobadi”, “Mozaffar Salehania”, “Sina Zandzai” “Muslim Saiedpour” , “Peyman Minbari”, “Ahmad Monbari” and “Ali Fatehi”

Bukan: “Idris Ghaderi”, “Suleiman Bipoosh”, “Avat Soltani”, “Diako Pourmostafa”, “Rahman Khosravi”, “Ghafur Nasiri”, “Rahman Ghaderi” and “Rahim Afshari”.

Diwandra: “Fahim Rafiqpour”

Mahabad: “Ronak Aghai”

Marivan: “Voria Delangiz” & “Mosleh Kohnepoushi”

Saghez: “Bakhtiar Khoshnam”

Sarvabad: “Hamid Adawa” & “Mohammad Adawa”

Maku: “Adib Sheikhankolo” and “Ali Tohidast”

Ilam: “Faramarz Malakshahi”

Kamyaran: “Layegh Rahmani”, “Ali Wisi”, “Yaser Farajalahi” and “Fereydoon Karimi”

Quchan: “Mansour Farajzadeh”

Iraqi Kurdistan held an independence referendum on September 25.

Kurds in Iranian Kurdistan stormed into the streets and marched the streets to support the referendum.
